A hygienist’s job is to help keep your mouth in a good state of oral health, by helping to keep your teeth clean, providing you with advice, and giving treatment for any gum issues, including gum disease. Seeing a hygienist regularly can also help prevent cavities.
Yes, we can see any member of your family, regardless of age. There is a free service for children aged up to 12, provided through your local primary school. For more information about these services, please get in touch with your school or your Well Child provider. If your child is aged between 13 and 18, they are entitled to free dental care either at our practice, or through our mobile dental units. Please note orthodontic treatment is excluded from the free service.
This is more common than you think. There can be a number of reasons for bleeding gums, including gingivitis, pregnancy, or just being overzealous with floss. If you have concerns, contact us to make an appointment to have it checked out.
Yes. However, it can depend on which trimester you are in, so we prefer to assess your situation on a case-by-case basis.
Your dentist will explain why they want to take an X-ray during your treatment. We now use digital X-rays, significantly reducing exposure to radiation. At the end of the day, it is your decision, and we will respect it.
